In his project Among Mountains Lies a Silicon God, Raed Yassin takes an artistic look at the echo as a sonic phenomenon in its many manifestations in order to place it in new musical contexts.

He explores the accumulation of sounds in space by examining the echoes that occur in nature and in the animal world, while reviving stories from Greek mythology around the subject, in addition to focusing on the phenomenon of the algorithmically provoked echo chambers of social media and our political relationship to the Internet itself.

He wrote this multi-movement piece as a connection between memory and space for six vocalists, six turntables and electronics. On the basis of technically complex recording and playback processes, he creates dizzying sequences between each voice and its own echo. With his piece, Raed Yassin presents a virtuoso attempt to synchronise time, memory and space in a single performance.
